Bridging the gap

Few days ago, the UK and China signed an agreement to provide a framework for co-operation between the parties as to promote innovation in financial services.

More in particular, the initiative is aimed to create a diverse range of new investment opportunities for both UK and Chinese investors, and open the doors to a pool of new investors for UK and Chinese firms focussing on eight key areas like capital markets, banking, green finance, and fintech.

Announced as part of the 8th annual UK-China Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) at Lancaster House in London, the long-term plan which was named UK-China FinTech Bridge will be strengthening the regulatory co-operation whilst boosting market access for fintech startups in both UK and Chinese markets.
