According to the last report from Beauhurst, The Deal H1 2017, which analyses all equity investment in non-listed UK companies between 1 January and 30 June 2017, the first half of 2017 saw a record amount invested into UK high-growth businesses.
In particular, the amount invested increased by 74.7% from the previous half to a record of £3.03 billion while the increase in deal numbers increased by 0.6% from the previous half to 653 reporting an average deal size of £5.61 million.
Among the main findings, later stage companies saw a decline of 7.6% from the previous half while the number of deals involving funds headquartered outside the UK continued to grow, rising by 26.7% from the previuos quarter.

Crowdfunding deal numbers fell by 18.4% from Q1 to Q2, with £48 million invested over 71 deals as Crowdcube, Seedrs, and VentureFounders resulted to be the top three platforms by amount invested while the latter resulted to be the leading platform by average deal size.
