According to Beauhurst’s The Deal, the report which analyses all equity investment in non-listed UK companies between 1 July – 30 September 2017, Q3 marked a recovery from the slowdown in deal numbers in the past year.
Deal numbers rose by 45.16% at the growth stage to record levels. Deals above £10m accounted for 15.26%, more than ever before. The number of deals under £500k has been declining steadily all year.
Growth at the later stage of the market has also been supported by an increase in the number of mega deals, with 8 deals over £50m this quarter.

Coinciding with the growth in frequency of large deals, is the growth in London’s share of overall deals (49.37% this quarter).

Finally, Beauhurst reports an increase of 21.62% in terms of number of deals in the equity crowdfunding segment, compared with data from Q2 2017. Seedrs, Crowdcube, SyndicateRoom and VentureFounders firmly hold the market leadership.
