Trade body Innovate Finance has published its annual Women in Fintech Powerlist. compiled in partnership with Lloyds and law firm Hogan Lovells, the list includes over 300 women in the global fintech industry.

One of the key remarks is that:
When we look at leadership roles, there is still a lack of female CEOs in finance
and even fewer women setting up FinTech businesses, Innovate Finance’s CEO Charlotte Crosswell points out.
In fact, just 26 out of more than 275 (9.4%) of Innovate Finance’s member companies are led by women. Part of the problem is a shortage of women graduating from STEM subjects: science, technology, engineering, and maths, Business Insider reports.
However, Natalie Ceeney, Chair of Innovate Finance, contends:
There are some great role models. They have had wide and varied careers, bring very different styles to leadership, and between them have achieved a fantastic amount.
