Good stories are one of the main crowdfunding campaign’s success drivers. But also, they are one of the key ingredients of the soft power of crowdfunding: a good story is the basis to start building a community.

The reason why is that stories help define ourselves as human beings, our identity, whilst navigating the world’s complexities.

Jonathan Gottschall claims that stories help us navigate complex social issues. One of the rationales behind could be that “narrative achieves an amplitude that information lacks”, philosopher Walter Benjamin argues in Illuminations: Essays and Reflections: ” Possibly because “stories always end up being about the people rather than the event,” Stephen King would conclude in On Writing.

To celebrate the #NationalWritingDay we made the decision to share some of our favourites crowdfunding pitch videos. This is not an exhaustive list, of course, but we think those are good stories worth watching.
