According to the latest figures from the UK-based data powerhouse Beauhurst, British crowdfunders invested £49.6 million in the third quarter of 2018, over 82 deals.
While reporting a 20% decrease in the third semester of 2018 compared to the second trimester of the year, the industry recorded a 10% growth in the first 9 months of 2018 compared to the same period of 2017.
The three leading platforms (i.e. Crowdcube, Seedrs, and SyndicateRoom) totalled 79 deals, worth a 96% of share of market, for an aggregated value of £45.2 million.
In particular, Exeter-based crowdfunding marketplace Crowdcube led the pack thanks to 42 deals worth £27.4 million, followed by the London-based Seedrs which reported 31 deals for a value of £13.3 million and the Cambridge-based SyndicateRoom with 6 deals for a value of £4.5 million.
