Innovative finance brings the need for more education. Whether an entrepreneur or an investor, looking into new forms of fundraising requests a surplus of information provided by experts in the industry.
This is the case, for example, of CrowdCamp, an annual event created by the multi-stakeholder working group European Crowdfunding Network to promote crowdfunding as an innovative finance source, educate entrepreneurs on how to use it, and raise awareness among investors on its potential.
Partnering with the University of Applied Sciences for Engineering and Economics (HTW) and Sirius Minds, this year’s edition will be focusing “Exploring Blockchain for Alternative Finance” and take place in Berlin on 13th June 2019.
Speakers include academics and experts from the industry including Philipp Sandner, Head of the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center (FSBC), Frankfurt School of Finance & Management ranked as one of the “Top 30” economists by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), a major newspaper in Germany; Christin Friedrich, Chair of European Crowdfunding Network; Joachim Schwerin, Principal Economist, European Commission; and Heike Hölzner, Professor for Entrepreneurship, HTW University of Applied Sciences in Berlin and coach for a number of startup accelerators and governmental programs.
The organizers of the event say,
Blockchain promises to offer the potential to achieve considerable cost savings, efficiencies and resilience. This edition of the ECN CrowdCamp focuses on how to best leverage the potential of blockchain technologies in the alternative finance sector by analysing the state of the art, understanding challenges and opportunities and providing recommendations for enabling and supporting blockchain empowered use cases for different target groups of the sector, namely crowdfunding platforms, investors, start-ups and SMEs and policymakers.
