Just a few minutes ago. Lunch-time. Whilst having my sandwich, I changed my plans as I stumbled into the last vlog by Casey Neistat. I couldn’t resist. So, no book review for this week, sorry guys. I will be back next week to my regular schedule.

Long story short, Casey decided to outsource the creation of his new vlog to ChapGPT4. You can watch it below. 👇

Amid the hype around AI, Casey raised more than a point: “That’s the worst video I have ever done! It sucked because it had no humanity. It had no depth to it, no soul to it. I think creativity whether it’s music or YouTube videos or a painting or whatever else it might be… The greater humanity that is embodied within that creative expression, the more it means to you, me, the viewer, the listener… It’s like a really sad song that brings you to tears, you know, whoever wrote that song or whoever’s singing that song you know that they were feeling something when they wrote those lyrics.”

A photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy of something.

Instead, “This vlog is just so basic, there’s no depth to the writing that the AI provided me with. (…) In its defence, I could have gone deeper with the prompts and perhaps it could have faked having a soul a little bit more.”

But, “As it stands now it felt robotic, it felt basic, it felt like a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy of something.” In other words, it lacks the human touch.

So, “For now I think I’m gonna go back to using my human organic non-AI brain to write my videos.”

And you? What do you think?
